My wife first came up with the idea, but it was a joint decision in the end.

One of your members of staff initially told us about them, then we came to your showroom and we really liked what we saw, so we decided to have one built.

The natural swimming pool fits in nicely among the plants and flowers in our little garden. It’s also a real haven that you can enjoy all year round: not only when it’s blooming in the spring, but also when it’s frosty in the winter.

One thing that I like about it is that you look out and it feels like you’re next to a river.

This used to be a fairly green area, then it grew more urbanized. Now the pool attracts birds and that’s one of the most wonderful things about it.

There’s nothing quite like watching the swallows come swooping down to drink first thing in the morning and the other birds that drink, sing and bathe by the side of the pool when they think nobody’s around.

I can’t think of any bad things about it. You need to take care of it but that isn’t a negative aspect, it’s just part of having a natural swimming pool.

Natural swimming pools don’t just work by themselves. You need to take care of them on a daily basis and grasp how they’re evolving.

I’d recommend them to people who like being in contact with nature and don’t mind having to clean up algae from time to time. People who don’t want to have to deal with little inconveniences like that every so often should probably opt for a traditional swimming pool.

I’d also recommend them to people who like to have something that’s constantly changing in their garden, because animals are also part of the life around a natural swimming pool: in our case, that means cats, birds and dragonflies.

It’s so nice and relaxing to sit down with your feet in the water, take a dip or simply look at it in the winter. When you sit by a natural swimming pool and read, it feels like you’re on holiday.

It’s important to take into account that you’ll have to spend a few hours a week dealing with the upkeep, but you just need to do simple things like cleaning the decking, oiling the wood (only once a year), cleaning the sides and gathering leaves after storms.

We’ve had it since 2009 and it was a great decision. It might have seemed like a bit of a risk at the start because we had no idea what we were getting into, but now we can definitely say that we made the right choice.

I learned to swim in a river when I was little, so for me it’s like reliving my childhood. The water is like river water: there’s no chlorine smell and it’s revitalizing.

I look up at the sky when I’m floating in the pool and I feel like I’m flying. You can’t put a price on the sensation that you get from the water, which is so light. You feel at one with it.

My daughters were younger when I had the natural swimming pool built: one was 23 years old and the other was 18. They loved getting together here with other people and my youngest daughter would invite friends over whenever she got the chance.

She was the first one to take a dip. It was October by the time it was finished, but she took the plunge with two of her friends.

We now have a grandson who’s 18 months old. He’s fascinated by the water but he’s still little and the natural swimming pool is deep, so I’ve built a gate to make sure he doesn’t fall in.

Why did you choose a natural swimming pond?

My wife first came up with the idea, but it was a joint decision in the end.

One of your members of staff initially told us about them, then we came to your showroom and we really liked what we saw, so we decided to have one built.

What are your favourite things about it?

Are there things about it that have surprised you?

For whom would you recommend a natural swimming pool?

Natural swimming pools don’t just work by themselves. You need to take care of them on a daily basis and grasp how they’re evolving.

What sort of impact has your natural swimming pool had on your everyday life?

It’s so nice and relaxing to sit down with your feet in the water, take a dip or simply look at it in the winter. When you sit by a natural swimming pool and read, it feels like you’re on holiday.

How long have you had a natural swimming pool and are you still happy with the choice you made?

We’ve had it since 2009 and it was a great decision. It might have seemed like a bit of a risk at the start because we had no idea what we were getting into, but now we can definitely say that we made the right choice.
