The location in this case was a bed & breakfast with breathtaking views of the Concarena massif in the Northern Valcamonica.
Guests can relax, sunbathe and enjoy the scenery in the garden. Although there was already a small fish pond there, it was not a particularly impressive sight.
We built a natural pond that is bigger than the previous one and has a soft shape. It has a large new area of ipe wood decking complete with a wicker lounge set.
The water is filtered by Iris Pseudacorus, Equisetum, Thalia dealbata and Pontederia, while water lilies provide natural shade and shelter for the little inhabitants of the pond.
Near the side, a dash of vibrant colour is added to the lawn by pittosporums, violets and maples.
Once the construction work was done, the fish from the old pond were set free in their new home. Finally reunited, the crucian carp, mosquitofish and koi wasted no time in racing off to explore their new habitat.
The new natural pond is unquestionably a much healthier environment for the fish and the decking is the perfect place to spend a few hours unwinding.
