A natural pond with water to keep you company

Interview with Emanuela
Type:
Ornamental pond
Zone:
Province of Brescia
Year:
2009

We chose to build a natural, ornamental pond because I find the idea of flowing water very relaxing and calming.

My favourite aspect is that the flowing water keeps me company. It also has a marvellous aesthetic impact on the garden.

I love to sit on the side of the pond and listen to the musical sound of the water.

On the positive side, I have to say that I was expecting the water to make me feel the way it does, so I’m satisfied from that point of view.

Nonetheless, you have to bear in mind that it’s necessary to take care of it. My husband deals with ours. You can’t just leave it to its own devices. Regular monitoring and upkeep is essential.

I’d recommend them to everyone who has the chance to get one because they change your perspective on where you live.

No matter how beautiful your garden is, adding water will take it to a whole new level.

The ceaseless sound of the water got on my nerves at first, but now it’s part of the garden and I would really miss it if we didn’t have it.

I really like spending time in the garden by the pond, unwinding as I listen to the water flowing.

My daughter’s a student and she loves nature. She adores the pond. Sometimes she dips her feet in it or even gets inside it and savours the feeling of the water cascading over her skin. Like me, she says that the pond fills her with a sense of tranquillity.

Guests are always surprised when they go out into the garden because they don’t expect to see a pond with water flowing in it. They revel in the joys of having the water close at hand while we eat.

My cats often climb up onto the top filter to drink.

The maintenance costs are very low, so they don’t have much of an impact. We manage to do all of the upkeep ourselves because it’s very simple.

We’ve had this pond since 2009 and if we could go back we wouldn’t change anything because we really feel like we made the right choice.

I don’t like traditional swimming pools and they wouldn’t be the right match for my garden, whereas the pond blends in perfectly.
