A nice, friendly elderly couple from the Cremona area asked us to create a quiet, highly distinctive little spot in their garden where they could spend time in the evenings drinking good prosecco and chatting with old friends.
They really like water but are not at all interested in swimming.
We built a formal pond featuring granite finishing. By the boundary with the neighbouring property, we constructed a substantial weathering steel watering wall that makes a delightful trickling sound and has LED spotlights shining on it, making it marvellously atmospheric in the evenings.
On the sides we put two large mirrors that reflect each other infinitely and make the garden seem more spacious.
The finishing touch around the outside of the pond is added by large bamboo poles, which give it the privacy required.
The customers now essentially have a new room in their garden: a quiet, secluded spot where they can feel peaceful and relaxed thanks to the sound of water. Sitting with the water up to chest height, they can savour the coolness, a nice glass of wine and good times with their friends.
